ALL-STAR PICKS. Keys first baseman Mike Huggins and centerfielder Woody
Cliffords were selected to start for the Carolina League All-Star Team and
third baseman Tripper Johnson joins the team as a reserve. The 2003 Century
21 California vs. Carolina League All-Star Game takes place on June 24th at
The Epicenter in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Check out All-Star Game information
at www.rcquakes.com <http://www.rcquakes.com/> . In addition to being named
to the all-star team, Mike Huggins learned the Orioles named him
Organizational Player of the Month for May 2003. During the month of May,
Huggins batted .400 with 12 doubles, 3 home runs and 23 RBI over 28 games.
He ended the month in first place in the Carolina League in batting with an
overall average of .351. It was a good week for the front office as we
experienced a season-high crowd of 7,134 on Tuesday night, June 10. Thanks
fans for your support and cheering on your Keys to victory!
DAD'S ON FIRST! On Sunday, June 15 the Frederick Keys will allow two Dads
who are celebrating Father's Day at Harry Grove Stadium to serve as the Keys
First Base Coach during the third and fifth innings of their game against
the Potomac Cannons. Game time is 1:05 p.m. with gates opening at noon.
The drawing will occur before the game and the winning fathers will then be
outfitted in Keys uniforms and taken to the dugout where they may enjoy the
view of the game while waiting their turn to coach first base. Every Dad is
a winner on Father's Day and can take the field to play catch with their
family after the game, following the Washington Post Kids Base Run. Batboy
Chris Lazor and his Dad will team up with his father as they become the
first father-son batboy team in Frederick Keys history. Check out our
website, www.frederickkeys.com <http://www.frederickkeys.com/> to learn
about our Father's Day Specials or phone us at 301-815-9900. We have a
